Sunny Ture Glides Over His Groovy New Record “dizzy (a blessing)”
Sunny Ture – damn. This hip hop producer, engineer, and rapper has gotten me in the mood this Tuesday morning with his newest record dizzy (a blessing.) All the elements of a hip hop classic are contained in just 3 minutes time. There’s the jazzy feel good production from Wun Two, the mellow bridge from featured artist ki,…

NY’s Hak Continues to Prove His Worth As A Solo Act In New Single “Paradise”
Just as quickly as they made a mark on the independent hip-hop scene, New York’s Ratking more-or-less dissolved due to creative differences between equally distinct MCs Wiki and Hak. Going their separate ways has brought vastly different results. Wiki transitioned right into releasing the highly personal and potent album Lil Me, gaining a fairly sizable…

Producer Extraordinaire Humbeats Steps Into The Spotlight On Experimental New Track “Monday”
I’ve been a follower of Humbeats for quite some time. One of my favorite rappers period is Austin Fair, an MC we’ve featured often. He even gave us our first premiere. Hum and Austin have worked together on all of his projects, and often his singles. They are one of the most underrated duo in…

Loren Steps It Up A Notch With A DJay Directed Visual To “Hot Shit”
I’ve been following Loren’s career for quite some time. Thinking back – my introduction was via 2 Minute Warning. I actually illegally downloaded the audio – sorry Loren. The Chicago MC has gone through tragedies, near death experiences, and name changes – but all for the better. It’s all made him and his music even…

Lorde Fredd33 Drops A Hip Hop Hybrid In New Track “Possum Play”
As rap music ever-evolves, it’s easy to take for granted its history and numerous stylistic shifts. This issue is avoided however when artists like Lorde Fredd33, a rapper of unknown origin (though affiliated with Milwaukee based label New Age Narcissism.) He’s hopped on the scene to adapt the ever visceral sounds of 90s boom bap…
