medna Digs Deep Into His Inner Psyche on New Music Video ‘MR. NEGATIVE’
Human beings struggle with their inner psyche every day. Some internalize it and push forward, others take it out on others, and some search deep within. Of course, there are a million other outcomes, yet it’s rare to find a human being that both understands his pain and admits he’s significantly contributing to it. This…

Cali Funk Machine Satchy Drops His Most Inspired Single (And Video) Yet – ‘For A Minute’
I sincerely enjoyed Flying Lotus’ latest album but was left feeling a bit empty. Most of the features were killer, (first place goes to Denzel Curry) but lacked fluidity and natural progression. 21-year-old Pasadena student Satchy has a new single out, For A Minute, and it contains all the vibes, transitions, and out of box…

FFD Premiere: Chicago’s Young Maxwell Makes An Unforgettable Introduction on Debut EP ‘Ugly Egos’
“Trapped inside my mental prison” And so goes Young Maxwell’s monumental debut, Ugly Heroes. He can switch from smooth nostalgia to lyrical slaughters that will put most emcee’s to rest. Sareem Poems…

Promising Chicago Duo Voyager Twelve Drops Another Impressive Single In ‘lighthouse’
Sometimes it’s all about the vibe. lighthouse, by Chicago duo Voyager Twelve, is almost hypnotic in its melodic simplicity. Producer TROY WONDER uses flutes and other high pitched instruments to create a sonic tropical wonderland. Although it’s often hard to make out the distorted, auto-tune vocals, they are an instrument all on their own. Juxtapositions…

Lonely Together Is Back With Remarkably Progressive Single ‘Slow Burn’
Lonely Together formed just a year ago, but their extremely developed sound makes it hard to believe. The Washington duo, made up of ZAK and Rosie, know how to navigate between genres and use bits and pieces to create music that shocks and thrills. The best example of this is on their debut album, Neverlost,…

Prolific Chicago Rappers Mani Jurdan & Solo The Dweeb Link Up For New Single ‘Pull UP!’
Mani Jurdan is a Chicago artist that has been steadily gaining more and more attention from music outlets of all kind. I wrote about his Revolutionary Suicide epic this fall and commended him for his ability to cement his own sound without fear of backlash. He’s a rapper, a creative, and sounds amazing over high…
