Javon Comes Back With A Vengeance In His New Record ‘Eminem Joint’
Eminem’s signature rhyme scheme is hard to emulate; so much so that I’ve never heard a rapper even attempt it. It may seem like an impossible task, but Chicago’s Javon did it with his latest song, Eminem Joint. Kill You is one of my favorite records off the classic Marshall Mathers LP, so I was…

Throwback: My First Compilation Tape Off My Old Hip Hop Blog Featured Saba! WTF?!
Many of my readers may not know that I started a pretty successful hip hop blog in 2011. I had just enrolled at Columbia College, a well-renowned arts school in Chicago. Majors included (but not limited to) photography, animation, theater, and poetry. In 2014 I received a Bachelors of Arts in music business. Throughout those…

Chicago’s Cey, the Ghost Keeps It Honest In The Newest Single Off His Upcoming EP
It can be difficult to share your inner thoughts – with others, and certainly in music. I’ve never met Mpulse, so there is no affiliation in that regard. He’s not our most posted artist because he’s a good friend. It’s because he’s proven, 41 weeks in, that he can consistently put out quality music. If you haven’t been keeping up with the Chicago OG, you can check out all of our…

Hey ANXT! So happy to talk to you. How are you? What’s going on Julie? Hopefully everything continues to go well over on your side. As for myself, I can always do better, but I’m not complaining. Can you give us an introduction on who you are? A little about myself? I’m from the south…

Rising Chicago Group Manwolves Drop A Summer Anthem in Roses (Group Spotlight)
It’s hard to imagine any genre bending Chicago band more prolific than The Social Experiment. Their debut album Surf was an incredible success, as it was the first free album on iTunes, and just the start of the group breaking music norms. New(ish) band Manwolves might just be the next significant collective to combine hip hop,…
