NYCK NEWZ- Midnight (New Project)
NYCK NEWZ just released his new EP Midnight and I’m already in love with it. I don’t believe you can “rate” music after one listen…or even 5 listens. As many bloggers have attested to; it takes time to really put a new project into words. I will say though that Midnight is an extremely promising record. I’ve…

Xavier Clark – Arlo Day (New EP)
I’m new to Xavier Clark but extremely impressed by his new 3 track EP Arlo Day. I went through more of his catalog and was equally impressed by his ability to create dark trap rap songs but make them all sound slightly more progressive. Arlo Day includes that same diversity from the warpy and more melodic self titled…

Astonish – To Whom It May Concern (New Project + Review)
We were dazzled when Chicago rapper Astonish gave us My Theme Song with Mano, so of course tabs were kept on his upcoming LP To Whom It May Concern. Well, it dropped, and it did not disappoint. There is a song for everyone here whether you want to hear some conscious lyrics, emotional and uplifting tracks, or…

AIR CREDITS – BROADCASTED (New Project + Extensive Review)
Damn, I hate that I’m late on this post. After missing the listening event for the debut project of AIR CREDITS (Showyousuck + The Hood Internet) I was just salty as hell. There was something I had planned long in advance that I had completely forgotten about and it hit me at around 3pm. Let’s…

TYuS – Never Forget (New EP)
TYuS has just dropped his debut project Never Forget and it is so smooth. It is imperative that you listen front to back as each track builds on itself. Yes, there are a lot of “alternative” r&b artists at this moment but TYuS differs in that he has created all this success on his own. No huge…

Plainro – LEAVES (New EP)
Planiro’s newest 4 track EP, LEAVES, has got me all chilly. It is the definition of down tempo chill wave with a mix of hip hop thanks to Ausar Bradley and Josi Green. Both added great features to a great EP. Make no mistake, Planiro is the star of the show with his breezy vocals…

Bijan Amir – Wild (Instrumental EP)
I’m new to bijan amir, but his new 2 track instrumental EP was enough to win me over. This shit is just amazing. I guarantee you’ve never heard anything like this before, especially as an instrumental album. The cover of the Wild EP is a beautiful drawing of what looks like a gorilla just uncaged.…

K.eYE.D + Thelonious Martin – POOLSCLOSING (New Album)
Virginia’s K.eYe.D & Chicago’s master producer Thelonious Martin connect in a BIG way on their newly released collaborative EP POOLSCLOSING. Martin has crafted some of his best instrumentals on this one. K.eYe.D provides a unique and complementary voice to his dusty beats. Take a listen to highlights UBERNOWHERE and Dark Silverware (Angela) to hear the…
