Chrisjaan LeMann – Maniacal (New Mixtape + Review)
Alternative download. What a discovery! And it was hand delivered into my inbox. I am very confident in saying Chrisjaan LeMann’s new project Maniacal is very similar to Illmatic mixed with a little Kush & OJ. Before my readers freak out and call this comparison blasphemous, listen to the album. Similar, not the same. All…

flowsfordays Chops It Up With Recording Artist Kev Decor
I found Kev Decor on SoundCloud. Typical way to find music these days. I often find a track from an artist, deem it dope, and then move on. Sometimes I’ll listen to more than one but never get the feeling the first one gave me. It is worth noting that ALL of the artists posted on…

Kembe X – Oxygen (Video)
I’ve always loved animated music videos. I’m not an expert on music videos, or, for that matter, animation and drawing, but I’m guessing these videos take longer, are more time consuming, or at least equal to a regularly shot video. Kembe X has released just this with Oxygen. Although the animator and director Yellow Nguyen & Christopher…

Mick Jenkins feat. BADBADNOTGOOD – Drowning (Video + Single)
Mick Jenkins has been on a roll as he should be with his new album The Healing Component coming soon. Not only has he released Sunkissed and much buzzed about Spread Love, he’s contributed to some dope Chicago infused tracks. Closed Session’s producer Odd Couple recently collaborated with him and midwestern emcee WesterX for his…

D. Graves – Find The Beat (New Track)
Terrible joke, but Chicago artist D. Graves definitely found the beat (gag). I can’t get over the almost screamo chorus; something I’ve never heard incorporated into a quote on quote hip hop track. Obviously Graves can do much more than hip hop, as also evidenced by Mass Appeal premiered track Gold featuring Rich Jones and…

Air Credits – Passport (New Track)
ShowYouSuck has been one of my favorite Chicago artists since his 2011 OneManPizzaParty LP. He’s been putting in work for a long ass time. He’s teamed up with mash up kings The Hood Internet to form an extremely talented trio called Air Credits. They’ve released All I Need Part 1 and Part 2 which were…

Adamn Killa – Mr. 650 (New Mixtape)
Let me get this off my chest right away. Mr. 650, the new project by Adamn Killa, is not for everyone. Maybe its a Chicago thing, but I thoroughly enjoy his music. His previous tape, Back 2 Ballin excited me with it’s strange approach to melodic hip hop. Adamn has a very loyal fan base and tons…

Ye Ali – TrapHouse Jodeci (New Mixtape)
Ye Ali has FINALLY dropped off his highly anticipated new project TrapHouse Jodeci. There is excellent combination of reggae, hip hop and r&b on this one. The production is incredible. What To Do is a complete standout, featuring K Camp. Camp has been pretty quiet in recent months, but he proves he hasn’t lost his…
