Ajani Jones (feat. Femdot) – The Fall (New Track)
Ajani Jones (formerly Anak1n) has been steady in the local scene, but seems to be going through a pretty big transformation. He proves this with his recent (and only song on his SoundCloud account) The Fall. It features Femdot, an incredible emcee that once again shows his potential to be the next star out of Chicago. Side note:…

Blitz the Ambassador (feat. Tumi) – Heaven (New Track)
Ghanaian hip hop artist Blitz the Ambassador is gearing up for his biggest release to date. On December 12th he’ll be blessing us with his LP Diasporadical, and based off the singles alone I think we’re in for a treat. His latest (and probably final) cut off the album, Heaven, is socially conscious boom bap hip hop.…

C$ – Dial Tone (New Track)
C$ always gives us that soulful shit, and today’s new drop Dial Tone is no different. Beatsmith Hooligan throws us some dusty 60’s grooves cut with a few samples. Jay IDK – Mentality (Video)
One of my favorite projects of the year comes from Maryland’s Jay IDK. Empty Bank has gotten almost universal praise from his fans, Forbes (who premiered the project), and publications such as DJ Booth (who did a full story on him.) I listened the day it came out as I was a huge fan of SubTRAP.…

Interview with Chicago’s Ibra on track ‘Get Yours’ (Dissection Interview Series)
It’s been awhile, but we are back with another installment of the Dissection Series. This one comes from Ibra, a Chicago emcee that continues to grow with every release. It’s nice to see an artist that is influenced by A Tribe Called Quest and 90’s hip hop. In his submission he wrote “I am trying to…

Jared Lanell – pLAy (New Track + Trailer)
https://soundcloud.com/jaredlanell/play Artist + producer Jared Lanell has created a new genre in just one song. I feel more than confident in saying that. pLAy is a track full of video game bleeps, distorted vocals, complex word play, a spastic flow and infinite amounts of energy. My description doesn’t do the song justice, so please press play.…
