Aaron Jasper – Stop It (New Track)
Aaron Jasper got vicious with this one. After posting a gritty music video in September, the Chicago rapper has given us the official audio to Stop It. Clearly Aaron doesn’t hold anything back on this one, and after a few listens it’s definitely one of my favorite tracks out of the city this year. Give…

Coach Tev (feat. Blake Cris + Oracle Jones) – Midnight Cruiser (New Track)
Using live instruments in hip hop songs is a dying art. Chicago leads the way in this endeavor, but I was always hoping it spread into other sectors. Midnight Cruiser is a wonderful example of this sometime taxing, but beautiful approach to music. This is rising Dallas emcee Coach Tev‘s 4th record of the year…

Benji (feat. LocateEmilio & LateNite) -Triple Threat (New Track)
My man Benji hit me with this new banger from himself, LocateEmilio and LateNite and I’m loving it. Everyone gets their due verses in and truly do make a forceful trio. LateNite has been giving us r&b tinged bedroom heaters for two weeks now which are definitely worth checking out. LateNite does numbers on all his…

Chi Truth – Stress (Video)
Chi Truth has been buzzing around Chicago (specifically University Park) and is continuing his run with his new video to Stress. JustMobWill provides a minimal, yet bass heavy beat in which Chi lays down his confidence in his music career. He isn’t nervous for what’s to come. Putting in work can be taxing, but it’s well…

EMP – Perfect Timing (New + Amazing Track)
Toronto’s EMP (Eestbound, Milly Manson and Pree) have been doing big things since the release of their debut single Rebellion. The song was dropped back in September and got huge placements; most notably premiered on Complex + and debuted with Ebro on Beats 1/Apple Music. It’s gotten over 1 million streams (accumulated through all streaming services)…

Doc Strange – Stare Here (New EP)
Experimental hip hop is not my forte. I’ll be the first to admit it. But the new EP, Stare Here, from Doc Strange spoke to me. This dude works hella hard, (details in a bit) even producing the entire EP. He has an eclectic sound and able to make a wide range of instrumentals. It’s…

Robyn Lasháe (feat. K.Dizzy) – Touchin’ Me (New Track)
We’ve got a beautiful vocal track on our hands today. Philly singer Robyn Lasháe and K.Dizzy link to create Touchin’ Me that could (and should) easily be hitting r&b radio stations worldwide. The song is centered on the emotions that come up when we get love from significant others. It’s a feel good song that is…

E.R.T – Fake (Video)
Chicago’s E.R.T + director DJay have joined forces to shoot a visual to E’s new track Fake. It’s a slow tempo but tough track shot at his former college in Elmhurst where he dropped out. The fuck you attitude towards the college is quiet amusing. The accompanying animation from Pat Banahan gives the video some vitality. Give it…
