Freequency – Sunset Music (New EP)
The Sunset Music EP from Freequency is full of summery vibes, feel good verses, and soothing beats. The Austin, Texas native goes above and beyond expectations since his last project Crafted Clarity. You can hear the obvious growth in the artist…and other blogs are taking notice. Earmilk even premiered the song just a few days ago. The site…

Hittz – MobbLyfe 2 (New Project)
Hittz’s music has been described as drill music with a positive message. His new Spotify + Apple Music premiered project MobbLyfe 2 embodies just that as it is dedicated to his fallen friends and collaborators Smylez and Gutta. MobbLyfe 2 features Skeezy and Killa Kellz, with (almost) sole production from Smylez. Listen to Mobblyfe all the way through and you’ll…

FromLastNight – Mom, I Dropped Out (New EP)
Rich Wall hit me up today sharing some very kind words about flowsfordays. He also told me he is 1/2 of a duo called FromLastNight. It’s comprised of himself and his brother BDB who are both from New York. They’ve been making music for about a year now and just dropped a full project titled Mom, I Dropped…

Maajei Vu – Solara Ultima (New EP)
“Alternative r&b” can get stale… I’ve talked about it time and time again. It takes a lot for me to enjoy a song in this genre, and more so, write about it. There have certainly been exceptions…all posted on the site. The newest addition was Dejavois’ recent single, which you can check out here. I’m even more skeptical…

Kris Leshaun – Calamari (New EP)
The intro to the Calamari EP is totally worth playing all the way through. It’s a conversation Kris Leshaun is having with an un-accounted for individual about his work ethic and his hope that he’ll meet new people that will share his drive in the music industry. Even if he goes it alone I have no doubt…

Jay Wonder – World Premier (New EP + Review)
Jay Wonder is the essence of classic hip hop. His newest EP World Premier is out of this world and took me back to the 90’s cats who freestyled on Stretch and Bobbito (please look them up if you haven’t heard of the radio show…there is also an excellent documentary on them on Netflix.) It’s a…

Ajani Jones – astrals (New EP + Review)
We’ve been writing about Ajani Jones for quite some time. He’s been featured on a few of our Better Half playlists and was included in our favorite Chicago songs of 2016 article. Just a recap: Ajani has been chosen to be the featured artist for AEMMP Hip-Hop (Columbia College Chicago’s award winning student run record label)…

Scotty Brown – Free Game (New EP)
Scotty Brown has a lot to say in his new EP Free Game. The project contains jazzy instrumentation, positive vibes, and reflection. He shows off his skills right away as the intro track is a freestyle that runs 2 and a half minutes long. It is the little touches that make the project something special…
