Matt Whise – Eternal Life (Beautiful Death Pt. 2) (New Track)
This is some ignorant shit and I couldn’t be happier to hear it. It’s around 2:30pm in Chicago, I’m at my favorite coffee shop in Lakeview, have had WAY too much caffeine, and am getting buckets after buckets of beer with my friend tonight. I have to start getting in the mood. Back to the music. Eternal…

Malcolm London – OPIA (New Album)
You know those albums that just make you feel good? It’s like sunlight in an otherwise stormy string of mixtapes, albums and tracks. Stormy in the sense of emotionless lyrics, booming production, and every song sounding the same. There is a big time and place for that (and as I’ve written before I’m very drawn to that…

Mpulse – 1 of 1 (New Track)
Chicago native Mpulse has been on the scene for quiet some time. His first post on SoundCloud was FIVE, count it, FIVE years ago. I’m pretty sure that was the beginning of the site (but please correct me if I’m wrong.) Dude stays working. I really enjoyed his last project Bulls Vs. Sixers, but all…

Rich Garvey featuring Prizm – Polytics (New Track)
Rich Garvey is here to drop some knowledge on you. New song Polytics does just that. He has flows for days (blog plug) and a strong intellect. The slow riding jazzy beat (from Der Zew) is a great platform for Rich to rhyme off of, and he does it well. Featured artist Prizm contributes well too.…

Jarreau – Half Past (New Track)
I really appreciate Jarreau’s mentality. He submitted a song in early August that I passed on. I told him to keep sending me music (as I do to all artists whether I post or not.) He didn’t give up and emailed me about his new song, Half Past. I couldn’t let this one slip by…

CRSLYRC – Show and Prove (Video)
We’ve got something cooking with Connecticut eccentric CRSLYRC. Check the blog on October 24th, and you’ll see what I mean. In the meantime he’s released the official music video for Show and Prove off his upcoming project YELLOBRIXX. The visual, directed and edited by Ean Jay, follows a mysterious girl through the streets and a run down building. The…

Interview With Freako on new EP ‘Vacation’ (Dissection Interview Series)
Our new dissection series has become a Chicago affair. I wouldn’t have it any other way as we are based in Chicago and I (Julie) call it my home town. I have carried on the tradition with Freako, a budding artist out of the windy city. He’s no stranger to the music scene, dropping two…

Amon – Future Ex (New Track)
Amon has a lot to talk about. As he mentioned in our sit down with him in August, his fans love the honesty in his music. Today’s newest single, Future Ex, may be his most forthright song yet. He calls upon his “future ex,” as he doesn’t have a lot of hope the next girl will…
