Tawobi (feat. Patnelso) – Too Short (New Track)
Tawobi is a fellow HBC member (see our profile on the Philly collective here) who makes music for the oddballs. He is great at distorting his vocals, using crushing, experimental production, and adding unconventional choruses. His newest song, Too Short, goes in a different direction that is more accessible and easier on the ears. Don’t worry – his personality still…

Asha O-Ren – ELEVATEHER MUZIK (New Track)
Ohhh shit. Asha O-Ren is back with another one. If you’ve been rocking with us for awhile, you’ll remember our coverage of her December release Stars. I said: ‘Asha has the most unique flow I’ve heard in recent memory; further accentuated by her soft, yet blunt voice.’ While this is still true, her newest song…

Gee$ (feat. Nickelus F.) – Uptown (New Track)
Gee$ has become a respected rapper in his home-town of Virginia. He’s put out a number of noteworthy songs, with two covered by us. He has an early 2000 Clipse flow + topic choice, but his wordplay is even more impressive, and voice stronger. Today he’s linked up with fellow Virginia rapper Nickelus F. to…

Bray Costello – Drag Me To Hell (New Track)
I am a sucker for songs like Drag Me To Hell. Wisconsin rager Bray Costello took a brief break, but is back, and better than ever. He has been compared to break through artist Xxxtentacion; but while similar in flow, he has a distinct personality and wit. He found a perfect match with producer Kartier who provides the dizzying beat. He just…

Zip Dot – MATCHTHATSHIT (New Track)
Zip Dot has been on our pages 7 times. Seven. Since we went live, every one of his singles have been posted. Because of this insanity, we have something special coming with him soon. This guy has become one of my favorite “under the radar” rappers in the city of Chicago. He’s going hard, with premieres…

Xavier Clark – DENXM (EP)
We’ve got another “better late than never” post. DENXM by Indianapolis’ Xavier Clark was released in the beginning of February, but I missed it. We covered his excellent Arlo EP back in November, and this follow up is impressive. It is the one of the best full lengths I’ve heard on SoundCloud this month, hands down. There…

Sig Da Gaud and Dertesounds – GAUDSOUNDS (New EP + Review)
An artist working with one producer on an EP can often bring good results. Said artist working with one producer that’s also a close friend can be a nightmare. They may have decided to collab just because they are friends. But, when this is done right, each brings out the best in one another. This is the…

KuuL – L.W.L. (produced. by Statik Selektah) (New Track)
KuuL certainly linked with a legend on his new Statik Selektah premiered record. The New York rhymer seemed to know this – and gave his best effort over the legendary producer’s instrumental. He flourished in his performance, shooting off complex rhymes, and seemingly effortless wordplay. He’s released 2 songs in the last month, but this is him…
