I’ve seen promise in Chicago crooner James Kalih since his debut single Runaways. His vocal range and falsetto are pristine, and his pop grooves stay catchy. He’s been working at the legendary Classick Studios, and the clear mixing and mastering make all the difference. Although he releases music sparingly, they are all well-crafted. His newest, Alone Together, is another demonstration of his heartfelt lyrics, but contain more groove and up-tempo vibes. James is able to carry the track without a noticeable chorus all because of his beautiful voice. Production comes from Thomas Crager who pushed James into new territory as an artist.
