Exploring The History of Unique Voices In Hip Hop (Editorial)
Since the birth of hip hop in the late 70’s there have been a slew of artists with strong personalities. Taking it back to the mid/late 80’s we can look at Flavor Flav. Public Enemy was a revolutionary group for the genre of hip hop and music in general, but Flavor gave the group, well,…

Destiny Roberts + Nsikak – Free Your Mind (New Track)
Saint Paul neo-soul + hip hop artist Destiny Roberts is new to me, but she really impressed with this new song Free Your Mind. Positivity is always needed, but something about this track hit me at just the right time in my life. Just the idea of freeing your mind is calming and welcoming. The…

squeakPIVOT – Totality (New Track)
We’ve got a wavy one from Chicago favorite squeakPIVOT. Totality has a slippery, experimental and electronic sound. Producer WaxRoof + squeak himself help create a complex soundscape that vocalists Christian JaLon and Scotty Brown completely body. It is truly a beautiful song. squeak adds excellent verses at the end. He sounds great on this type of production…

SQUiRE – Understand This (New Track)
SQUiRE doesn’t stop working. I’ve been following his music output for awhile and it seems every time I’ve digested a song or visual he puts out something new. I’m not complaining, just amazed at his work ethic and consistency. Not only has he produced content, it is quality content. We’ve gotten music videos, a new…

The album I focused on was Apollo Brown & Skyzoo’s collaborative album, ‘The Easy Truth.’ It is a dope piece of work; something…

Nell – Break Yoself 2 (Video)
Nell drops bombs. Whether its collaborations with Denzel Curry, freestyles or projects, he always adds his unique flow and personality to every release. His new music video is no different. The BloodIsBond directed visual is raw and unforgiving, but bangs like no other. Break Yoself 2 was released a year ago but seeing the video brings new life into…

Cassius Tae – To The Block (Video)
We’re back and it feels soooo good. flowsfordays is starting things back off right with a new video from our favorite guy Cassius Tae. Ja-Wan The Director killed the visual. The first minute is a laugh riot and relatable; just good friends clowning around. The video follows Cassius through a picture perfect day in the…

Martin $ky – V Thankful (New Instrumental)
Looks like $omebody is back at it. A few weeks ago we wrote about Martin $ky and his undercover moniker, $omebody. Under this account he’s posted a bunch of instrumentals and experimental tracks that are all amazing. I was sincerely hoping to get a full project/playlist which came in 001. Today, we get a new cut that…
