6 posts in and we are still rocking with ANXT. He has continued to impress us with his rapping and production skills that transcend trends and break boundaries. It all started with last year’s instrumental EP “Watching Paint Dry,” a full stream of individual instrumentals that varied in sound and influence. After learning about the process behind the project, I gained a new appreciation for the work he put into it. A few months later, ANXT showcased his bar for bar skills on EP Ain’t Shit Changed But The Lingo – rounding out his artistic development.
The Chicago talent has continued to innovate with his newest single Over/Under. Over a haunting trap beat from beatsinmybackpack, ANXT ebbs and flows with flare. Bits of personal narrative, lyrical genius, and confidence envelope the 3-minute record that serves as the first single for his upcoming album Keep your eyes straight and your mouth shut. I never know what to expect from an ANXT full length, which is the beauty of his music.
