Zip Dot has had a landmark year. The Chicago MC has dropped 10 songs in 2017 alone, and none have missed the mark. With the help of both SoundCloud and YouTube, Zip has built a strong (and growing) fan base. If you’ve been rocking with us for awhile, you already know I’m a huge fan of his work and get geeked when something new impacts.
He loves to hit us with double drops, (usually) consisting of a song and accompanying visual. His latest, Midnight, is just that. The 2 and a half minute track is a lyrical assault, as he utilizes his bar for bar skills and pivoting flow. He addresses the ones who want to see him fail, and shows confidence through braggadocious and potent lyrics. Zip grabbed Pandy for the visual which, appropriately, has no gimmicks. As usual Zip chose a great instrumental, this time from Jewfy.
