It’s a gorgeous Sunday here in the city of Chicago, and I’m enjoying every minute of it. I’ve been playing smooth hip hop from the likes of Tribe Called Quest, Curren$y, and vocalist Sampha. It’s barely 1pm, and this has been the best Sunday in recent memory.

Going through submissions has taken some time, but thanks to my newest contributors the process has run pretty smoothly. I’ve finally gotten back to the official flowsfordays gmail account, and the last unread submission was from Chicago emcee Breeze.

Breeze has been dropping easy listening loosies and projects for the last year, all in the category of “lifestyle” hip hop. His rapping abilities are superb, as he glides over any instrumental given to him. Production is usually handled by the duo Tha Shipmates, with Breeze as a member.

His newest record, Let Em Know, is Breeze (and Tha Shipmates) at their absolute best. Breeze glorifies the “SuperFly” lifestyle as described. He speaks on polygamy, drug dealing and high fashion without any hesitation. I will have this on repeat throughout the day as a perfect accompaniment to this beautiful weather.
