Creativity. The word has lost all meaning for me in the last two years – at least within the hip hop stratosphere. But when I see glimpses of it I do all I can to spread the word. A perfect example comes from Sour Deez, a well-established Portland MC who has opened for the likes of Kevin Gates, B.O.B., and Snow The Product.

On UFO, Sour Deez is comfortable in his eccentricity. The SoundLapse produced short film is meant for the big screen, and just as awe-inspiring as any movie now playing. Both rapper and producer play with, and evoke important questions: who are we? where are we? And most importantly, what are we afraid of?
