Casscade’s first post on flowsfordays was his Valentine’s Day single Favorite Girl, an impressive track with a Janet Jackson sample. This was no corny R&B record, but a synopsis about an ex who supported his creative endeavors who is no longer in his life. After their break up, he became surrounded by women who wanted to leech off of his success. His pain was insurmountable.
I dubbed his follow up project, Living In The Moment, a flawless body of work, which led to our interview and a music video to my favorite track off the album. Over a year has passed, and the North Londoner has headlined a show in Germany, gained support from BBC 1xtra and built a rabid fan base.
Before he dropped his most anticipated EP yet, Casscade released 2 hit singles – Sexy, and Finesse. After building a buzz in the UK, and snagging new followers in the states, Casscade has finally blessed us with Ignorance Is Bliss. The EP finds Casscade coming into his own, showing maturity, progress, and an upgraded style and flow. He’s no longer just a talented lyricist, but a multi-faceted artist that can drop party anthems, poetic musings, and catchy singles. Highly recommended.
