They day sequels are never as good as the first, but that’s not the case in Hip-Hop. Tha Carter II was by far the best of the bunch & I can go on and on about other until you stump me with Hov’s Blueprint series…. Either way, I said what I said. That’s why when Oakland native RonnieMac released the third chapter of his Weekend With Mac trilogy, I couldn’t wait to press play, & I was not disappointed.

Carrying a distinct bounce and cadence that can only be found in the Bay, Weekend With Mac 3 is a fun, enjoyable project that showcases Ronnie building off many of the things in the last installment that made him an artist to watch. Already having a knack for catchy hooks and infectious one-liners, this project saw Mac diving deeper into his bag lyrically, & even playing big homie to supporting cast members to give them some shine. One glaring example of this was on, “Baby Bro Goin’ Krazy” which, I’m sure you can tell by the title, see’s Mac & his little brother, MarriGoKrazy trading off bars and playing off one another’s catch lines.

With three solid tapes under his belt, keep an eye for RonnieMac as he gears to release his studio album. Until then, enjoy Weekend With Mac 3, below.
