Tom Moore is one of the biggest hip hop heads I know. He reps the most important qualities of being a true MC – lyrical dexterity, upright flows, compelling content, a unique voice, and a keen ear for beats. It’s been a full year since we’ve heard from Tom after putting out his Discontent EP executively produced by FFD favorite banksthegenius. The long wait is finally over in the form of new single Sunday Fun Day. Frequent collaborator Nick Arcade provides the dusty, eccentric, serving as a backdrop for Tom’s lyrical workout. This is his successful attempt at making up for lost time.
Sunday Fun Day is a precursor to his upcoming EP Can’t Sleep, which will contain songs that are short and concise, with little to no hooks. The project itself was heavily influenced by Madvillainy and J Dilla’s Donuts due to their raw, borderline and weird as hell production and packed bars. Tom is a true student of the game, and puts in overtime to perfect his musical output. Show some love and stream above.
