SoundScape Studios and Closed Sessions are staples in the Chicago hip hop scene. Soundscape has a solid reputation as one of the best studios in the city, while Closed Session houses talents such as femdot., Ajani Jones, Kweuku Collins, and more.

Sebastian Kamae, a producer, audio engineer, and composer, was lucky enough to intern with both this year. Through his work, he discovered artists that perfectly fit his eclectic instrumentals, which inspired him to create the masterpiece that is Waves. It’s obvious this was meticulously crafted, starting with the polished engineering.

Sebastian calls Waves a culmination of everything he has learned in the past year. Love, intimacy, passion, and darkness permeate the 7 vocal tracks and 3 lo-fi instrumentals. Sebastian included artists from Chicago, Toronto and the Netherlands – clear signs of a genius at work.
