That ill lyricism from Chicago seems to be fading away as of late. It’s been a minute since I’ve heard an artist lay down reality raps that spark emotion and cut through you like a knife. Enter Austin Poe. On his latest visual, Cold Out, he lays out raw emotions on loosing homies, struggles within the city streets, and his ambitions as an artist & man. Over gritty production combined with a smooth flow, the Zoony Life affiliate gives us his reality, no matter how bleak.
The director and producer are not listed, which is a shame. They both contributed immensely to the success of both the song and music video.
Nevertheless, Cold Out is the first offering off of his upcoming mixtape Inspiration Vol. 1 due out this Summer. I’m expecting a dope full length from the budding MC, and have no doubts he’ll follow through.
