Mikeyy Austin has had a hell of a year propelled by his well-received “L I F T E D” LP. Tons of blogs picked it up (along with yours truly) and was even reviewed by Dead End Hip Hop. The project dropped over 5 months ago, and I’ve been wondering when I’d get to indulge in something new. Today is the day, with easily one of the best songs I’ve heard this month. Rock Steady is soulful, lyrically insane, and features 3 midwest heavy hitters in Packy, James Gardin & Phourthelov. These guys crammed so much content into 3 and a half minutes, but it sounds effortless. To keep Rock Steady rooted in classic hip-hop, there are vocal interludes that compliment Ess B’s energetic beat. I highly recommend giving it at least one listen, and add to your Spotify.
