Massachusetts’ hip-hop is foreign territory to me. I rely on submissions to get me in tune with artists around the world. Matt Maratea is an artist out of the Western part of Mass, and one of my favorite discoveries this side of 2017. Yes, Matt can rap with a flow smooth as silk, but also has an astounding presence behind the lens. Dude dresses with flair and moves like a star in the making. With Brittain Perez behind the camera, his newest visual 4 E V R is pure eye candy.

All of this can be true – but if the song doesn’t match it’s a dud. Thankfully 4 E V R is a perfect balance of a turn up mentality, braggadocius rhymes, and fruitful bars that never cease.
