After a Brief Hiatus, Ish Williams Returns With Solid Single, “Fire”

When Ish Williams’ dropped Sonia’s Son last year, I bumped it on the regular. It stands as his best work to date, with a plethora of bangers that never sound the same. Not much has impacted since (besides features on his $outh$ide of Jersey collective’s debut mixtape) but that’s all changed with his newest single Fire.

Not only does it serve as an update on what Ish has been up to, it shows his growth as an artist. Help comes from producer Kev Rodgers who was all over Sonia’s Son, and someone I’ve been in tune with since the inception of FFD. Kev is not only a talented beat smith, but a superb vocalist with a penchant for pop music. The beat he crafted for Fire is incredible, and a perfect backdrop for Ish to showcase his skills. Although the instrumental is trap fused, Ish’s lyrics are full of positivity and his belief in good things to come.
