flowsfordays has been around for over a year, (!) and since the beginning we’ve put the independent artist first. We are a submission based blog first and foremost, with a love of music discovery. Playlists have become the new wave – with Spotify leading the way with a “pay if you like” streaming service. Apple Music is trailing shortly behind, they only offer a paid subscription service, knocking out a large population of music lovers.

While SoundCloud has it’s place – it is a clunky interface with very few customizable options. How many of you have found a project or song you loved with no way to download it or even stream it?

The music industry changes, often at a rapid pace, and it’s important to embrace it rather than resist it. Our model of supporting underground artists will never change, but our platform can only go so far. We have decided to up the ante with a “best of” Spotify playlist dropping every Friday. We call it “the waviest songs of the week,” which will consist of our favorite user-submitted Spotify tracks.

These songs must have been released in the last week of the upcoming Friday, and the form must be filled out, or they will be discarded.
