IKON’s debut EP Auragami is finally here. After a number of infectious singles, including out personal favorite High, we now have the full shebang; 6 tracks strong. The Chicagoan is primarily known for his production skills, but in the last year has shown he can sing, produce chart toppers, and go way outside of the hip hop realm.
In the age of Spotify, SoundCloud, and Apple Music, albums impact, are sometimes listened to, and are often thrown to the side. Auragami stands out as timeless. You’ll come back to this. You will remember every track; if not the entire EP. Features are abundant in the form of L.A. VanGogh, E-Will, AMARA and many more. Look out for Do you, a hauntingly beautiful record with a piano backing and sultry vocals from Forever Undefined.
Auragami’s energy, sequencing, featured artists, and experimentation have come together to give us all that makes IKON, IKON.
To add fuel to the already burning fire, a standout cut from the EP, Believe That, has gotten the visual treatment. It’s a party in the Cody LaPlant directed video, focused on featured artist Ishmael Raps. Let’s not forget the co-production from Rob Lyrical, who, along with Ikon, put together a bass driven record perfect for any summer setting. Peep below.
