Chicago’s AceSo Returns With His Best & Most Ambitious Project Yet in “The Timbo Tape”

Today is a monumental day. Reason #1: Chicago’s AceSo has dropped a new EP. #2: He’s rapping over Timbaland Beats. #3: It’s even better than his now 2 year old breakthrough mixtape Sick La Familia.  The Timbo Tape is easily his most ambitious project yet. Who in their right mind would take on instrumentals from arguably the best producer in hip hop? My man AceSo. It is definitely one of the best mixtape’s of the summer. He comes correct on every song, and has upped the ante on his already impressive rapping skills.

He brought something totally new to Timbo’s classic cuts, with his strong personality, and ability to switch from a laid back flow to a strong delivery. I loved his use of ad-libs and vocals, perfected on alright. You’ll recognize the song from the jump, but take the time to notice AceSo’s unique approach to it. Somehow he incorporates elements of rock, r&b and soul throughout the project, and I am incredibly impressed.
