Some of you may know that my first hip hop blog was called Discover Good Music. I started it in 2011, and it ran up until around 2015. It’s since been deleted, (sort of) but I have great memories of those 4 years. It is where I learned how to communicate with artists, build bonds, and improve my writing.
I felt like I was going back in time when TtheGAWD hit me up. He was a regular in those days, but went by the name of Tragedy tha Beast. When Chief Keef -esq music was the new wave, the Chicago rhymer continued to drop lyrical gems with menacing production.
It’s been awhile since I’ve heard from him, so when he hit me up I was overjoyed. He linked me to his newest track, When The Time’s Right, and I immediately noticed the progression. His confidence is way up, and he’s perfected his flow and narratives. T mentions 50 Cent in the song, and the similarities are obvious, right down to his incorporation of sing-song rhymes in the hook, and towards the end.
T is out to kill on this one, perfectly encapsulated in these 2 lines:
“No you aint my equal/and I’m not tryin to be cordial” AND “N**** ain’t really rapping they need some sort of tutorial/Don’t veer off in my lane I’m insane and territorial”
Producer Classixs Beats adds dark, yet polished production to T’s 3rd single in just 3 months. Welcome back T.
