Savage G gave a tremendous first impression on single California Palm Trees. I gave it a write up as soon as it was submitted, excited to learn more about the Cali hip hop scene. When he sent me his latest record, The Plan, I developed a newfound respect for him. Off the bat it features Roosevelt the Titan, a well renowned rapper out of Chicago. I’ve been following his career for years, first introduced to his music via Fakeshoredrive. It’s been a minute since I’ve checked out his new stuff, and I’m happy to start it off with this collaborative song.

Savage and Roosevelt are a perfect pair, delivering intricate bars with a surge of power. It never gets boring as they have completely different vocal styles and flows. Contained is a perfect mix of positivity, bravado, and focus on achieving greatness. The grimy beat comes courtesy of Cxdy; another great choice in producer.
