Portland emcee Al-One is new to my ears, but hip hop fans in his city are beginning to take notice. Makes sense as he has undeniable talent on the mic. A few weeks ago he dropped his Good God Bad Business video, which was produced by one of my favorite new discoveries !llmind. Their collaboration was nothing short of spectacular.

Fresh off the success of the single, Al has connected with battle rap legend illmaculate, and OG rapper/producer Theory Hazit. Al, ill, and Theory serve up a deadly amount of bars over the smooth, yet banging production provided by Rey Holliday.

Legends Of The Fall is an incredible cypher that never falters in energy. It is a notable record because of the personality each emcee brings to the track. They have their own distinct voice, flow, writing style, and use of wordplay. Right after I gave it a spin I immersed myself in each artist’s catalog.

We are two releases in, and it’s looking like Al-One’s new EP Sharptongue is going to be his breakthrough moment. It hits worldwide on June 2nd.
