I admit it I admit it (Drake voice). Chicago rapper Astonish dropped a very nice project about a year ago called The Who Tape. He enlisted some help from Saba, John Walt, Lungz, Scheme and, producers Slot-A, Ikon and BPRJD among others. All local heroes in the Chicago hip hop scene.
The Who Tape was straight up boom-bap goodness; and when it dropped a year ago I took note. Since then, he has dropped a loosie titled Just A Little, and now, Triple Beam. Chris Crack and Astonish seem to be competing on bars, but both hold their own as they are both masters of wordplay. Producer Akt-One lays down a spacey sampled instrumental to let both artists display their unique styles of rapping.
Triple Beam is the first single off his upcoming project To Whom it May Concern set to release Sept. 6, 2016.
